Our premium Manila rope is a natural fiber rope made from the abaca plant and imported from the Philippines. Manila rope is sometimes referred to as hemp rope and is often used as a decorative rope for dock and deck handrails, fencing, docks, borders, arts, crafts, and tying or wrapping. Some other applications include landscaping, recreation, industrial, marine, fitness, and games. Manila makes a great tug - of - war rope as well as a battle rope for undulation.
It has low elongation under load and knots well. Since it is a plant fiber it does shrink around 15% when it gets wet the first time. Please take this into consideration when ordering.
All Manila rope fibers are treated with a light mineral oil during manufacturing to prevent them from becoming brittle. Some people don't like the smell of Manila rope, especially when it is brand new. The odor will fade over time. We find the odor pleasant and enjoy getting shipments of it for that reason.
Suitable for outdoor use, although it does mildew and rot over time with exposure to moisture unless properly dried. If you prefer a synthetic Manila rope that will last longer and not mildew you can buy it with this listing number
352550090222 just copy and paste it into the search bar.
Your rope will come neatly coiled in a box.
